How to Succeed in AP Classes
Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer students college-level work while in high school. The College Board has created course guides that may include prerequisites, extended reading, or learning beyond the scope of the school-day curriculum. In that vein, some AP teachers ask students to complete work over the summer to prepare for their courses, ensuring a smoother transition into the material come September.
To support those AP requirements, we offer small group programs that will assist the students in breaking down the assignments, completing the objectives, and assisting in methods of cumulative learning. These courses are designed specifically to meet the needs of the individual course and requirements.
Schedule: 3 Week & 6 Week options, details vary by specific AP course.
Cost: $750 – $1,500 depending on length of the course
Preparation for the New Digital SAT
This course is ideal for the student who has done little to no preparation thus far for standardized tests. The SAT is now an adaptive test that is presented in two modules of Reading & Math. Depending how the students do on the first set of test questions affect the difficulty of the subsequent set of test questions. The intention of this preparation course is to jumpstart the practice and review process, showing students what is necessary in order to feel prepared and confident for the SAT. This curriculum will cover test strategies, content review, and 2 Full-Length Practice tests. Additionally, we will outline an individualized plan for continued independent practice in the specific areas that are pertinent for the student’s desired success.
Schedule: 6 weeks, 2 days per week, 3 hours per day, 36 total hours of instruction.
Cost: $1,500
